Hemanth Munipalli joined Egencia as Chief Financial Officer in August 2016, bringing two decades of global financial and operating experience. He is responsible for leading Egencia's global finance team and supporting the further growth of Egencia.
Prior to joining Egencia, Hemanth was with General Motors Company, most recently as CFO of GM's China business, and was based in Shanghai, China. As a key member of GM China's leadership team, he supported the growth and strong profitability of the business, leading its financial planning and execution, supporting new business development and managing complex joint venture partnerships. Prior to being CFO of GM China, Hemanth was the Treasurer for GM's International Operations covering Asia-Pacific, Africa and Middle-East regions, where he supported several key operational improvement initiatives and led the centralisation of treasury functions.
Prior to moving to China, Hemanth held various treasury leadership positions in GM's Treasurer's Office in New York, including stints in large-scale M&A, restructuring, global capital planning, funding and other strategic transactions. In his early finance career, Hemanth held operating finance roles both in the US and in Australia.
Hemanth began his career as an engineer and has broad experience in various phases of product development. Hemanth holds an MBA, graduating with honours from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, an MSc in Industrial Engineering from Wayne State University and a BE in Electronics & Communications from the University of Mysore, India.
